Built from 1955 to 1958, the Maserati 300S Barchetta was built for the FIA World's Sportscar Championship. 18 were built with no two exactly alike. What intrigues me is rather than the classic external intakes or scoops, they used the highly efficient NACA intakes that were designed by the U.S. National Advisory Counsel for Aeronautics in 1945 for jet engine air intakes. Obviously designer Medardo Fantuzzi was looking to aircraft design for inspiration.
Holy Smoly! All this terrific detail - that Maserati is amazing! And these haulers - big & small! Holy Smoly! 😬 🤪 😬 🤪
@chris This ain't the $300 Exoto43 either. It's virtually all plastic and cost less than $100. It may be by Old Cars or a Chinese knock-off of the same, but it certainly has a lot of detail. It's like 15 years old... or at least that's when I bought it. My only complaint is the glazing is a bit thick.. probably injection molded so it's a bit on the foggy side.

Thanks for the heads up, I DID assume it was Exoto-43. Looks great for being a knock-off, and any "thick" flat glass can easily be replaced with thinner stock. I know how you love projects. 😀
@chris Taking it apart would be a real pain. If it came as a kit, it'd be easy.
@marty-johnson What a perfect portable parking lot Marty.

Actually Bob, you're spot on! No doubt Marty & John would agree - ANY hauler model is a true space saver! 😏 😏
