Bugatti 57SC Corsica 1938

I like to know the history of the Bugatti 57SC Corsica touring Roadsters. I hear a general in army order this car from Bugatti. Can the details at this point be said. Sticking appearance it has class and province. I like to
the details if one or tow were made other than the one CMC is introducing this year.
Sincerely

Hi Bob,

I can't tell you much about the history of the car but I can tell you that I have had this car on order now for sixteen months. Having become familiar with CMC I am sure it will be well worth the wait.

I mainly collect 1:24 but the first time I bought the CMC Red Ferrari Berlinetta, I was hooked on their cars. I have that one, two of the California Spyder and the Ralph Lauren Bugatti Atlantic. I can hardly wait for this one to finally come to fruition.

Good luck with your decision

So, you crossed the line to 1/18 "precision".......

and I don't blame you. My first CMC is going back about 6 years ago with the Ferrari Belinetta. Since, I have been hooked up.

For the serious collector looking for sharp details from top to bottom {...yes some of us have appreciation for a detailed undercarriage) it is the way to go.

I have the red Ferrari Spyder and the blue Bugatti. I don't care for the latter black one.

Try some of the following:

-MB 300 SLR Ulenhaut Coupe/red interior........
-MB 2003 SLR Coupe in silver (very scarce)......
-MB SSKL LE....also outstanding......
-Ferrari Testarossa.....any you can find............

Also, try some Exoto models.

Some years ago, I sold the big 1//10 Black Ford GT40 to a fellow collector in Canada. It was a marvelous piece of engineering.

Actually, I am waiting for a replacement for the 1/18 Jaguar D Type. I can attest the model is well worth the money for the collector searching for the top detail in any way.

Well, on this one, I will see how customer service will send me a replacement for No. 12.

They replied it is retired but they have "two" on Ebay.

ToJim from Bob Geco

Jim:
Very nice pictures are you sure they are not real Ferrari California specials? How does the hard top for the black look. is their a headliner and chrome fitting. Can you send me some pictures. I have one of the first red models, not quite sure why we did not get a hard top, seems king of cheap of CMC to pull that stunt. I have both Bugatti Type 57SC coupes I was inquiring on the Corsica Roadster which has not been release . I kind of a history buff when it comes to my Models . I enjoy reading up on them and knowing their history. I think I must have ass many books as I do models. The favorites are Mercedes-Benz Silver arrows and the 300SL Gull Wing 1955 to 1956 and I am a Ford Mustang fan at heart.

Bob in CMC's infinite wisdom only the Ltd Ed's get hardtops (black, blue and silver)

But the black and silver cars get the wrong tops...black gets a silver top and silver gets a black top. Neither combination was ever offered by Ferrari. I have the black version and I am looking for a black top so if anyone has the silver car and wishes to make a trade it would be appreciated.

Thank you Bob.

Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of the Black Spyder with the top on it because I like most everyone else, didn't care for the two tone treatment. It won't stop me from buying the Corsica (on order for the last sixteen months) though and looking forward to CMC's next announcement of new offerings.

Take care man.

Hi Richard,

You say you didn't care for the black Atlantic. Was it the wheels? Did you know that behind those wheel covers (that Ralph Lauren designed) there is a full set of black wire wheels. Just remove the knock off's and there they are.

What I found really difficult was putting the spring loaded latches back on the bonnet. Once I had opened the hood and looked at the amazing detail on the engine, it took me two days to re-attach those latches. That was the first and last time I will ever open the hood on the Atlantic. Sheez!

As I said, I am a 1:24 collector but I do have an appreciation for detail so I had to have some of the CMC cars. I am chomping at the bit to get my hands on the Bugatti Corsica. I have had mine on order for sixteen months now.
I can hardly wait.
