Rusty I am also a XkE fan Jaguar and know the history about this car

Rusty: the famous XkE Experimental Mr Norman Dewis Crashed in testing it. it was restored but by the time they got around to producing a third Generation of XKE it was dropped . It was suppose to be a competition car for Le Mans Jaguar after they lost interest in the car dropped a V12 in the last of the XKE. not as powerful ass the model you have .
It has been restored and Norman Dewis survived with just a couple of scratches luck, he was the chief engineer. I cannot remember the model number assigned to the real car. I know where to fine it ,but I loose this reply

What a beautiful car !

It's a shame the real XJ13 was "late to the dance". I think it was more suited to the performance levels at LeMans in the early '60's vs. the late '60's. But still one of AUTOart's finest pieces when it came out, along with the D-Jag, and a precursor to some of the great things they were about to do like the Mazda 787B, Koneigsegg and the Pagani Zonda R.

One of these sold on Ebay tonight for $241 used and "needs cleaning".

It's the only one I've seen come up. I really like it but decided against bidding once it got to $200 with 22 bids. I figured I'd have to enter a max over $300 and I guess putting that much into a used model however rare gave me pause.

Or will I regret it like I regret turning down the Pullman LWB that sold for $300 a couple years ago?
