CMC 1961 Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta Passo Corto

This model was originally released back in 2005 according the Car List & Reviews section of the Diecast Zone. I finally picked one of these up a couple of months ago to go with the 250 GT California. The Berlinetta has a beautiful shape and is exceptionally well executed even when compared to some of CMC's more recent releases.

One thing that prevented me from purchasing this one as it was released over the years was the cloudy headlamp lenses with which some models were plagued. After acquiring this specimen, I found that the headlights were only lightly fogged. I know someone has posted some tips for correcting this but I couldn't recall when or by whom this was shared.

At any rate, I'm glad to have finally picked up this model. Here are a few pictures I had a chance to take over the weekend.

Bryan, I’m sure you can tell I’ve copied your style but I’ll never come close to your expertise and execution.

Gorgeous shots!

PIC - Bryan, although I wasn't the only one who posted a solution to the frosted headlights...

... I did post this before and after photo. It is a fairly simple task to pry the lenses away from the bezels, and then clean the inside with Novus.

That does it. I'm giving my camera away and entering a monastery.

Gene...if you do, your models will look outstanding in their barren surroundings!

Headlamp replacement

Bryan:
You can send your SWB to CMC USA in Rochester, and they will replace your headlamps with the new non-clouding style ones, and ship the model back to you. They did this for me on my yellow version a couple of years ago.
