Me too Frank!!
That's a good story, but due to your manufactured antagonism between Mann and Ford, I suspect, from what I know of Alan Mann, he would not have raced the car in yellow, but his more usual and flamouyant red and gold. The Whitmore/Gardner car that raced at Le Mans, in 66, had its colour determined by Ford, not Alan Mann.
Would have been faster than this:

The car was finished in yellow because......
the Sebring car was already painted red and Mann wanted a clear difference between the cars. Hey its my story I can spin it any way I want....LOL
In truth there really was little love lost between the different Ford factions that became involved in the Ford GT40 effort. The Ford Advanced Vehicle guys in the UK never felt they got the credit they deserved.
And in the world of Frank Lemire the Sebring roadster ended up being raced in Hillclimb events by an old Shelby friend.

I just like the red and gold - something to do with Cortinas and Escorts!
