Custom race car of the day
This one started life as a Bburago Ferrari 250LM and I converted it into Scuderia Filipinetti's 1965 Ferrari 330 P2

Not my best work, but I was just starting out when I modeled this one.
I'm still at a loss as to why nobody has made any of the Ferrari prototype cars from 1960 to 1965 in 1:18
Developing a thing for Filipinetti
I was doing research on livery for a Filipinetti Porsche 904 when I ran across your Cobra 427. Now I think I'll do both. See you have quite a collection of them. I can't figure out why no one does any of the 60's early prototypes. Maybe because Mattel has an exclusive? They aren't doing very many historic cars. Still waiting for the Moss 250 SWB.
I currently have a dozen cars...........
in Scuderia Filipinetti livery.
I really came to admire George Filipinetti because his team campaigned so many different cars over the years. I currently have Ferraris, Porsches & Cobras in his livery along with a Corvette, Mustang and Ford GT. One of these days I'd like to add a Lola T70 to the mix.
As I recall GMP was planning on doing the Ferrari 250/275/330P cars but never got the chance. It would actually not be that hard for Mattel to do them using their upgraded 250 LM chassis and interior as a base. If they built it to the quality of their Ferrari 512S models I, for one, would be in.
If I can help you in your efforts please let me know.
Thank you. I've got a picture for you.

A vast improvement over the standard Burago, for sure!
Ferrari prototypes
I did a mod of the 250 LM to the 275p NART Rodriguez #1 Bridgehampton '63 car. Wasn't happy with it. Tore it apart and did the #110 '63 Surtees Nurburgring car. Still not happy. Next reiteration will be the #80 NART 330p that Scarfiotti drove at Bridgehampton, which was sold to Filipinetti and is the Spychiger car. Lots of bodywork changes, including headlight location to get it right.
