[Closed] Improved CMC Ferrari Picture

Yay! At least two items on my list have been addressed.

Now that is more like it!..........

The model looks so much better in this photo. Race cars that were designed with ground effects in mind look very odd indeed if they are not close to the ground.

I'd love for them to also add the missing livery items but I think I'm now sold on this one.

I have confirmed with CMC...

...that this model was taken from the production line version.

So step back from the brink if that's where you happened to be standing 🙂

Marshall, thanks for saving this model. Before, it looked like a toy.

Now it looks like the replica of a racer, at least in stance.

Just so people won't think I'm just a complainer, this is looking like something I'll be puchasing.

May be CMC know what they're doing.
With the exception of Marshall, none of the jumping to conclusions of the last couple of days on this Forum has anything to do with CMC's revisions - look at the time scale. Indignation and outrage have always been close allies to impotence.

With all due respect Paul I must disagree..........

It is important that CMC know that its client base wants them to build their race cars accurately. This is something that they have failed to do on a number of occasions.

The only fault here was that we wrongly assumed that the photos Rusty posted were of a revised pre-production model and not the one we had already seen and found wanting. It seems odd that they would continue to circulate a model that they already knew was flawed and that they intended to fix.

Also a good deal of the 'back and forth' on this issue was focused on the models stance being correct or incorrect. It is clear that the 'fools and children' were correct and CMC was wrong.

My feeling is that without collector community 'ranting' CMC does not consult an expert like Marshall Buck and the car would have been delivered with the wrong stance. (and as an aside, if Marshall says it's wrong - it's WRONG)

I want this model and already have it on pre-order with Legacy Motors. I actually hope that all of this conversation, that might be seen by some as 'much to-do about nothing', will help boost the cars sales so that CMC will continue to make more models like this.

Finally, I'm not a fool or a child, just a collector who is looking for real value for his $400.00 but perhaps I've worn out my welcome here. I apologize to everyone who thinks I have slighted them or wasted their time. Moving forward I will limit my posts to reviews of cars I have purchased.

Frank, there was just a lot of shouting fire, before anyone knew if there was a flame.

I sincerely believe that everyone can voice their opinion and, on this occasion, I think there was an over reaction, especially as the whole story was still to be told.

You know, I hope, as well as I do that your views are highly respected here on this forum and we would all be the loosers if you were to stop. So please don't!!

I couldn't disagree with you more. Those of us who collect post war historic racing cars find few offerings and even fewer manufacturers producing them. Therefore it is important that those that are produced are well received, so that additional models will be produced.

The Ferrari 312P that CMC has circulated different pictures of is not a correct version of the car even with the corrections that have been applied.

While the ride has been corrected, the shape of the nose is not correct and the rear fenders are too shallow as you can see by noting the height of fender above the wheel arch. These are not small issues.

It is important to me that the product which is sold to collectors is correct so that it will be a financial success (the Ricko Alfa Romeo 33.2 is a good example of a failure to produce an accurate model). If they do not sell accurate diecasts it is likely that CMC may cease to produce racing cars which would be unfortunate.

Your reference to other members of the board as impotent is regrettable.

One final question if I may..........

isn't it better to raise a fuss before the production cars are released rather than after when nothing can be done about it?

And by the way, the ride height was only the most egregious sin not the only sin - there is still no indication that they have or intend to fix anything else.
