I bought this MkV Continental in 1979 as the urging of my second wife who said 'as a doctor, you have to have this'. I was kind of disappointed that in '79 only a 400 cid was available with single exhaust only. It produced a pathetic 159 HP. It was still fun to drive and with that incredibly long hood, passengers would recoil in horror when I made sharp turns. The question was "how the hell can you drive this monster without crashing into things?" My response was "I just focus on the radiator gun sight". LOL This BoS model is about as close as you can get to my old land yacht. Mine had a Dove Gray half top and interior. It certainly was the smoothest riding car I ever owned.
It is a excellent looking car and exceptionally good replica of it. The fine images of it certainly show it off beautifully and it is a great color and vinyl roof on it too. All-aboard, but it such a gorgeous way !

I believe it! For years I told folks that some of the smoothest rides I had experienced were in full-size Ford products from the mid to late '70's 😏 Many would look at me as if I had just landed. 🙄 🙄
@chris I could do 35 mph over speed bumps and barely feel them (which also freaked passengers out).
My favorite Continental was my '98. I loved that DOHC 4.6 V8. It was so smooth and responsive. The FWD was also great on snow and ice.

I thought you had made a major mistake...... I Googled to ensure I was correct - what I discovered, however, really shocked me. I ALWAYS assumed 1998 Lincoln Continentals were RWD. I can't believe I was wrong. 😮 😲 😮
