Kinda interesting if you like the past........

So I read Autoblog daily and they had a cool story about the history of websites and actually posted a link that will let you put in a domain name and see what thing looked like years ago at the birth of the internet. Here is the link though I don't know how to actually post a clickable one.

My point to this is if you want to relive the past just go there, type in your favorite site from back then and see what it looked like and relive the memories.

I typed in my original diecast business, http://www.thediecastmall.com and sure enough it dates it back to Feb 2001. My original logo is even on there. The other point of this is if you search http://www.thediecastmall.com you will see this huge building with all the diecast manufacturers names on it. It was actually a real huge closed used car dealer by my house I shot a picture of then photoshopped (yep even in 2001) the manufacturers names on it so it looked like I had a huge store.

In reality I ran the business out of my home and was internet based only. What I never expected were how many people tried to GO TO that location and found it wasn't the diecast mall but an empty building. Funny part is I would invite them to my home to make there purchase and ended up getting notice from the home owners association about how I CANT run a business out of my home while living there. In the end I ended up getting a real storefront.

So if you remember that original diecast business you bought from or want to see what your favorite online store looked like in the beginning head over to the website and type in there domain name. Lets ya relive the past though you cant buy any cars at the advertised prices, LOL, but you can dream.
