I spent some time with the guy who built this Autocar rig transporting a job worn bulldozer of a D9 class. We started swapping tips and soon realized we were solidly on the same page. So we went to critique everybody elses work. LOL
This 1985 Mercedes Unimog is a combo of kitbashing and scratchbuilding with all working lights. It's another tour de force of weathering. Note the undercarriage in the mirror.
Here's a Panzer Vl "Tiger" that didn't quite make the grade. The overlapping wheels and tread is well done showing the problem the tank had with mud caking between the overlapping wheels. Oddly, the upper aspect isn't even 'washed' and the green camo paint is applied with a paint brush rather than air brushed. The muzzle brake should be blackened. The figure was just a gray and light flesh blob that I added a bit of anatomical shading to just give some human feature to the head and neck.
Here's a few rat rods and a junkyard diorama. There weren't many dioramas at all this year.
Yep, I agree with your assessment! That 1985 Unimog is a showstopper, with most of the "excitement" under the vehicle! That Panzer Tiger is "half done." 😯
Cool pics (keep'em coming )...AND...very timely too!
I'm working on a 1/64 1957 Ford car-hauler-project (posted in the Handicrafts Forum ). Ultimately, I plan to weather the snot out of it. I was literally looking at this photo of the 1:1 truck I'm replicating right before I saw your post--about weathering. 😏
Just look at all this AWESOME DIRT! 😀 😎 😆
@rich-sufficool Ah yes, the ubiquitous Ford C.O.E C series from 1957-1975(?) The identical tooling was even used by MACK truck, they just slapped a MACK badge on it.
I'm all but positive that hauler model perfectly matches a 1:1. It's nicely done!
Just a couple of quick shots from the workbench - 1/24 scale diecast with weathering:

@ralf Terrific! Like the scale loads too. It takes a lot of guts to "destroy" a model like that. 🙂
@ralf You got it all there: dirty, dusty, rusty, faded/oxidized... very nice.
Thank you all for your kind words! ...and yes, I like the Opel Mule / Maultier (and it reminds me that I still have to detail the underside of my truck... 😎 )
BTW thats how the Berliet looked before the treatment

I usually do not weather my models, but admire those who do this well. The models in above pictures are impressive.
