TWR's Jaguar XJR9 Prototype is an interesting design for an F1 car. Instead of a wide track but narrow fuselage determined by the width of the engine and headers, they enclosed it with a wide body that extends to incorporate the wheels and tires with removable spats to fully cover the rear wheels. Long, low and wide, it dwarfs their full size XJS saloon.

The one thing that does stand out with the design is that it should produce a ton of downforce. At any rate, the car was powered by the TWR-Jaguar naturally aspirated, 6.0 liter SOHC for IMSA and a 7 liter V12 for WSPC (F1) producing 730 and 750 HP. This Castrol liveried #60 was the car's first win at the 24 Hours of Daytona in 1988. The same year, the Silk Cut liveried XJR9 took 5 victories including Le Mans. The car was pretty much a one year only success, with Nissan's entry garnering most of the wins in 1989.

Fine images of this one. Whoever did this scale replica did amazingly intricate job and observers could spend hours just marveling at the details. Just shrink yourself down, put some gas in it, and drive away, lol ! Wink

Not F1 but ultimate Group C unless F1 here does not mean Formula 1, Rich. The car was designed around Jaguar V12 originally designed to go in the Jaguar XJR13 years earlier. The engine was a heavy monster that required some creative engineering.

This is a wonderful model of a fascinating Jaguar. Thanks once again Rich.

What a great model, I can't seem to find fault with any Exoto model I've seen and wish I had this one and the Silk Cut liveried one in my collection.
