(Pics) 1957 Oldsmobile Super 88

This is one of Highway 61's great '57 Olds Super 88 models. Here it is a deep blue over an ivory white version with a 371 J-2 Rocket V-8 under the hood. Acme has leased this tooling and more recently produced this 1/18 beauty.

I like it indeed. I have 3 other color versions of this car. Will never understand why the backseat side windows are up. The very beauty of a hardtop was the open air affect. It would look so much better if they were down.

I agree. Maybe with the right tools the windows could be removed.

Nice to see one without a sun-visor.

(Pic) I think most of H61's '57 Olds Super 88's were sans the sun visors. I have two other H61 hardtops : a gold one also without visor and this ivory white one that does have it. They all look great to me, and there are also the fine Yat Ming convertibles that I have a couple of examples, too.

Al, I could have those windows out in 10 minutes. Nothing to it!

Without question one of HW61's best efforts. Too bad a vintage STOCK car version was never produced.

Or with the top down. FYI I do not like the sunshade on these.

Yep...that's pretty much it. Quick & painless. Like out-patient surgery.
