A number of years ago I did a very simple animation of some Chevrolet cars in the 1950's using 1/18 diecast models I had. I am missing 1951 and 1952, but the simply placed line up is :
1950-MotorMax
1953-SunStar
1954-SunStar
1955-Ertl
1956-Precision Miniatures
1957-Highway 61
1958-Ertl
1959-Yat Ming
Correct Mike, in fact, one can collect 1/18 models of "full size Chevrolets"Â (Bel Air, Impala, Biscayne, 150, 210, etc..) from 1948 through 1967 with the omission of only a few years: 1949, 1951, 1952
Interestingly, I can't think of any 1/18 models, resin or diecast, of "full size Chevrolets" from the 1970's. How is this possible? 🤔 🤔 🤔Â
@chris, I think the market is moving toward those years. We're watching it happen in 1/43. Goldvarg made a beautiful model of the '70 Caprice, and there are numerous 1/43 models of luxury cars from the 70s. Several manufacturers have released 1/18 versions of more recent Cadillacs. As the collector demographic begins to age into their prime earning years, those who grew up cruising the new car lots in the 70s will want models of those cars they aspired to.

@jkuvakas I concur with your assessment, however, I foresee many 1/18 resins but few diecasts. Personally, I need a "Goldvarg commitment for regular cars," coupled with ACME's passion for full-function-metal-diecast all combined with Maisto's pricing strategies! 😀 😀 😀
@chris  Dreamer.
Right! 🙄Â
Because I know $175-$400 1/18 sealed resins of 1970s Chevrolets (and other makes ) are coming but I don't collect resins. What I really want/collect, I'm unlikely to see. 😔Â
