(PICS) CMC's 1/18 Fiat 'Ferrari Hauler'..... bought one, and it's amazing
I spend most of the time these days on the 1/43 site, but after listening to them talk about their 1/43 $300-$450 basic car models (albeit limited production), it struck me that this CMC hauler at $805 with free shipping was a really good deal. There are evidently 3115 parts used to make this model, and with the astounding number of working details, this model, even at that price is a super bargain. The fit and finish on the one I received was outstanding with none of the usual minor tweaks or touch-ups that I usually wind up doing on most any model I've ever bought.
With everything tucked away, the model is about 20" long and it weighs quite a few pounds.
Just go to 'Car Lists and Reviews' and type in "transporter" in 1/18, you'll see some of the incredible detail. It's actually available right here in Legacy Motors for less than I paid, although I don't know how expensive the shipping would be.
The only reservation that I have about recommending this model is that it will take up quite a bit of space....I may have to park it in my garage!! On the plus side it can soak up three 1/18 model Ferraris that are right now taking up shelf space. They can just as easily be displayed on the back of this hauler.
Clifford, congratulations on your purchase. It is truly a beauty. I, like many, would love to get one, but rest assured, my wife would probably kick me and my cars to the front yard if I even entertained the thought.
Yeah, I , too, will have to take it reasonably easy on the spending..................
This was more than I've ever spent on a model, and I'll have to show some restraint for the next long while to maintain some marital accord. I don't want to find myself 'homeless' at this stage in life.
Clifford, you could say to the wife something like this, "Honey, consider this as sort of life insurance on me."
It's one of the genuinely great 1:18 scale models.
Congratulations on your purchase! It looks great!
Cliff, I feel the same way. This really is a bargin (all things considered). It's not my area....
...of collecting but I am on the fence. The truly bad thing about this model for me is that I do NOT own any Ferrari models to go with it.
Didn't this thing (or something like it) haul AC Cobras too?
-Chris
Reventlow's Fiat hauler that originally hauled Scarabs changed hands to haul Cobras
Absolutely stunning, Clifford.
I'm not a race car fan but this transporter is awesome and it is a beauty. I'm sure that it worth the price. I just come to go on the Diecastbymail.ca website in Kingston, Ontario and their price is $895. F?licitation!
Michael, Scale18 in BC has it for $805 with free shipping
Of course you'll have to pay sales tax if you buy from Canada but you'll pay the same amount to Canada Customs if you import it from the states. check out scale18.com
It's not easy being green (with envy, that is)! Congratulations on acquiring what is probably.......
the best diecast truck ever produced, IMHO, although the various Maqmedons certainly run close behind. And thanx for sharing it with us all, Clifford.
Clifford, congratulations, everything coming from CMC.......
is mostly perfection so this one must be outstanding. I don't collect race cars but if I would, it surely would have a place on my 1/18 display with the other CMCs.
On my side, I am still trying to figure out how I will answer some questions from my wife when the Bauer 1/12 1935 Mercedes 500K will arrive at the door step LOL...(I will be OK).
Thank you, for the address, Cliff.
It is a great deal Clifford when compared to ........
"High Quality" 1:43rd scale model cars BUT I don't have anywhere to display this beauty!
I would state that this is the model of the moment and urge people if they want one don't hesitate!
Cheers Chris

I just love this model. I'm still trying to figure out how to swing this and...
... the 1:12 Scale Bauer Mercedes 500K. I would essentially blow my entire years diecast budget on just two models.
