My 1:1 '69 Dart back in the day.
ย The other side has the utility poll imprint 10" into the door, sill and roof. '62 Chevy ran a stop sign right into my door knocking the Dart diagonally off the road into the poll; and the Chevy went another 20' straight down the road: DRUNK ahole.
Took the 4 bbl manifold w carb, the prestolite duel point distributor, complete exhaust inc. manifolds, 4 speed transmission and installed them in a new '71 Dart GT that I ordered but Dodge did not offer the 340 in a'71 Dart in the USA.ย So I ordered the '71 with a 318, 3 on the tree, 3:23 Sure Grip, heavy duty suspension[for sway bar +],GT package [bucket seats +], proceeded to install all the above parts [they had 47,000 miles on them and the exhaust was only a couple of weeks old] including floor hump & steering column collar to get rid ofย the 3 speed column collar in the '71.ย Why you ask?ย I was young and enjoyed working on cars and the real reason:ย
'71 Dart stock 318ย
1/4 mile ET 17.04 with '69 parts 15.3 sec.
average MPG 15.3 with '69 parts 17.4
What got me is how the numbers reversed themselves exactly!ย The numbers were honest.
@brush Oouch!ย ๐ ๐ย
Yeah, crazy how those numbers worked out.ย That took real guts to swap engines in a brand new car.ย My 1st car was a 1968 Plymouth Satellite 2-dr hardtop... so obviously I LOVE these smaller-but-similar Dart body styles but have never owned one (yet ).
ย
@chris, Not an engine swap, just the parts listed added to the 318.ย The original '69 Swinger 340 pure stock [wide oval tires] turned consistent 13.9 sec..

Right... got it now.ย 318s were just about like 350s..... practically infinite ways to "add on"ย performance goodies. ๐
That was one of the very first models I regretfully sold. It was definitely an A+ model.

Who wants to go to the Bonneville Salt Flats and set some land speed records. This is the SO-CAL Speed Shop Team Belly Tanker with a Flathead Ford V-8.
This is an ACME release. Nicely detailed and is a pleasure to look at.ย

@john3976 That's a great, historic 1/18 model and one I don't own...but I still have plenty of other vintage speed rods/racers. Hanging out at the salt flats is fun!
Not a picture but the 1971 Mach 1 351 Ram Air Mustang needs to be in here because AUTOart did a fantastic job on this car.ย
ย
Yep! Love these.... but I wish they would've issued one in blue.
Nice... sure wish Solido would "move it up a notch."ย ย I like many of their offerings but can't live with JUST opening doors. ๐ย
Come on Solido...ย I'll pay the extra $40.ย Let's see the hood and trunk too! ๐คจ ๐คจย
