Like this one alot, although I only have the convertible version. I don't know actual 1:1 production numbers, but it seems a fair percentage were ordered/produced in this color red.
@john3976ย The original Lane Exact Detail bought by GMP/Acme is still out there. This Orbit Orange Ram Air Vl was released a year ago, built (I assume) under license in limited numbers (250 for this one) by "Retro Hobby". At the relatively low pricepoint, there's no way in hell it could be new tooling and it appears an exact clone of the original Lane.
@rich-sufficool The original was a GMP release not a Lane Exact Detail.ย
There are a lot of differences between the GMP and the ACME release you posted. While they may share tooling the GMP release was much more detailed than the ACME release.ย
Here is the 1970 Pontiac GTO The Judge convertible from GMP, this one is closer detail wise to the ACME GTO but still has some different tooling. This one does not have the detail that the Orbit Orange GTO from GMP has.ย

I'd swear that those pics are of a 1:1 GTO. It looks almost perfect. What I notice most for instance is that the steering wheel is not overly thick. The exhaust pipes aren't too thick either. The headlights are realistic. The interior is DDG . The engine compartment is "over the top". The wheels are 'almost' perfect.... they're missing valve stems !ย And to think that this 'masterpiece' model was probably available for under $200 when released is unbelievable.
What a fantastic GTO model you've got in your collection ! Congrats !

HA! Years ago, I picked up mine for $39.00 "MIB"ย ย I guess white w/black wasn't as popular as the other colors.....ย ย ย I'll take it! ๐ ๐ย
Wow Chris....๐ Thanks for bragging bout that ! Yep, I'm sure we've all got stories of having been at the right place at the right time. I know I do too. BTW, that's a beautiful color combo. Nothing wrong with white although I think that George might disagree with me.
