That's too bad about your order getting screwed up, but I do like the end result. Not sure I've seen the 2-tone seats before.
@marty-johnson Oh yeah, I see it!
Not to add fuel to the fire (...it's all moot now ) but as you know, "nothing's as pretty as a picture." The fact that website photos "look better" is no surprise. Before the dealer placed the order on my car, I triple checked ever option/detail; I wanted no surprises. I would've PREFERRED to take delivery on something in stock (that way I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT I'M GETTING )... but as I noted, there were NO cars available with red interiors.
In your case, you literally had zero options. I empathize totally with this unfortunate mishap. I hate having to live with mistakes caused by others! 😡 😠
he told Alan Mann to dump them in the ocean
Smokey Yunick was known to sell almost new race cars when he was done with them for $10.00 dollars or he would just have them crushed
I never knew this before, but all of us have pitched or purged items that later become valuable. I know I have. 😔 😔
1970 1/2 Camaro Z/28 by Ertl. Chevrolet for some reason when they ran the exhaust pipes out the back on these cars did not run them straight back but instead angled them inward towards the center of the car. They never looked right to me, Pontiac on the other hand ran their exhaust straight out the back and did not angle them like Chevrolet did.
@gavin Those are great (have them ) but I sure wish SS would re-issue an "upgraded" '82. The best 1/18 1970 Camaro is by The Franklin Mint, if you can look past the chunky dog-leg doors hinges. Furthermore, the BEST of the BEST scale model of an early '70's Camaro, to this day, is still this one (shown in primer ). Some even refuse to believe it's a model.... they're convinced it's the real thing, but it's not!
Absolutely 💓 those '70s new designs Camaros & Firebirds. IMO, they shamed the Mustang. I know that the 'stang was at least available in three iterations though. But that GM style hooked me. I guess that's why I went looking for a Camaro or Firebird instead of a Mustang when I was looking for my first muscle car in '74.
One of my favorites. AA did a great job on these, though I never liked the wire wheels (as I'm sure @chris would agree). The earlier releases had the other rims, which I personally like better.
AutoArt Toyota 2000GTs (Coupe is the 1967 24 Hours of Fuji winner & Cabrio is from 007's "You Only Live Twice"
though I never liked the wire wheels (as I'm sure @chris would agree).
HA! Yes, yes I do. The wires are OK....for a "cheapy," but look totally out of place on these otherwise beautifully done Autoart Toyotas. Scale modeler's authenticity guide:
"You don't put B-level wheels on A-level models."
......Page 8, chapter 1, section 2, paragraph 5, sentence 3 😏 😏 😏
The BEST example of this "violation" I have is this Model T Speedster, but I have a plan, stay tuned.....
