Steve, I'd say you did a very fine job hand painting those wheels. They look "sprayed" to me. Nice job!
Thank-you !! It was a little tough to make sure the brush didn't touch the red calipers and the Lambo center caps.
I only took off the tires as I didn't wanna chance breaking anything as I've done before.
Steve
I love that Sunstar Chevy !Â
Steve
It is nice ! They made a convertible 1954, too,
All really nice ! My Motor City Classic '48 Chrysler woody is great. Unfortunately, my Signature blue 1948 Chrysler convertible has suffered from diecast corrosion, especially in the doors. Normally, it would be a very nice model. A hardtop was offered, too.
@chris When I was living in Thailand for a few years, the used car market was quite interesting. An incredible number of American, European and soviet automobiles were out there and still in running shape. The Thais had an amazing "midnight auto parts" system that somehow came up with the right parts for virtually anything on the road and I never asked questions on just how they did that. I test drove old Saabs, a Russian Moskovitch right out of their consular motor pool and at the end, I settled on a '55 Plymouth 6 4dr poster... with Chinese gauges. LOL. My friend and neighbor bought a Charcoal Gray with a white top Chevy like the one you showed in absolutely pristine condition. I gather it must have been restored considering both the harshness of the sun and the high humidity played hell on any material prone to oxidation. Prior to his purchase, I never gave these Chevys much thought, but I just loved the lines and that elegant gray color. He was leaving for the US about 6 months before me and I considered dumping my Plymouth and buying his Chevy, but he already had dozens of offers on it and sold it for quite profit. When I rotated back to the States, I sold mine to a coworker. 6 Months later, I got a letter saying my Plymouth was cut in half by a wayward Isuzu 18-wheeler. Ironically it had survived quite a few collision with little Japanese like a Datsun Blue Bird taxi and a Subaru mini-van with those cars being totaled and my Plymouth coming away with a small dent or two. Nothing like the old heavy gauge American steel in those old tanks.
@rich-sufficool An interesting story Rich. Glad my '54 could jog your memory a bit. 😀
I always like the 53/54 Chevies in 1/1 scale and when these came out I had to have them.
Very nice 'Stang buts! 😎 😎Â
