Don't quote these figures, but my guess my guess is initial tooling a 1:18 with no opening features could range from $45-50,000 (closed cars), then with opening features maybe $85,000 (Maisto) to $150,000 (GMP style details). Initial cost to the manufacturers is a big part of the decision making. And these days with way less people collecting, recouping your investment is much harder with way less higher end units sold. But we are not a manufacturer so my figures as I said are a guess. Yet I know SC paid like $3,000 (15+ years ago) for just that Cuda "convertible top up" part that we had made. And Sun Star said they invested like $45,000 just for the race parts on their Henry J Gassers. Now I'm rambling, what were we talking about? LOL.

No, no Jim, on the contrary, I truly appreciate your input. And I know it's ALWAYS about the....
...bottom line. I simply feel that "everyone" is missing out on sales opportunities. If I just had an extra $700,000.00 for start-up costs, a factory, the tooling, a trained labor force and a small army of Attorneys I just know I could prove out my theories! Now who's rambling? lol!
