This Mercedes-Benz 2 liter Targa Florio was one of 3 built under the auspices of Director Ferdinand Porsche. This #10 car, driven by Christian Werner, won that grueling Sicilian road course in 1924. This car disappeared for many decades until found recently and brought to the Mercedes-Benz Classics Center in Stuttgart where it was beautifully restored by the engineers and craftsmen for its 100th anniversary. What could be preserved was, and what needed to be fabricated or reproduced required a deep dive into their archives and historic documents.
I love the simplicity of the car, showing every nut and bolt that encompasses the cutting edge of automotive technology in 1924. CMC did a wonderful job on this model and the replicated 2.0 liter 126 HP DOHC 4 cylinder is quite a gem.
Oh wow, what a thing of beauty. Is this via the Bradsford Exchange ?
@modeldadeeee Is the Bradsford Exchange vending CMC models?
Breathtaking photos Rich - makes me glad I have this one! 😀 😀
Wonderful photography of a wonderful model. Fantastic detail. I have this in Cursor 1/43 plastic from about 40 years ago. Not bad for that scale for the time. Thanks Rich.
@chris Looks great. Wish I had the model.
@bob-jackman Thanks.... it is a beauty, as Rich so skillfully demonstrated. 😏
