I remember when the first generation mid- engine Lotus Europa debuted in'66.The biggest joke was a virtual lack of rear vision, but it looked cool. When I saw the car at the NY Auto Show, I realized I could never fit in the car anyway. This latest generation, called the Europa S, unveiled in 2006, was solely Europan as it was never exported to North America. Its 2.0 liter turbo-4 put out enough horsepower (~200) to make the lightweight GT car a real scooter... that I still couldn't fit in.
the white color looks great on this application...
I'm with you Rich. I never thought that I would have to try on a car to see if I fit. A few years ago I built a 1929 Model A roadster hot rod and ended up selling it because I didn't fit in the car. The body was a Brookville steel exact reproduction. It never occurred to me that I wouldn't fit inside the car until I had finished the car enough for it's initial road test. I was able to get in and out of the car with some difficulty but there was no room to move my legs once I was in the car. After a short time behind the wheel it was evident that that the car and I didn't belong together.
I like that!
Oops! Corrected.
Fine images and a terrific model ! Galen is correct about the very nice white color scheme.
I've always loved the Lotus Europa. I remember when I first sat in one and how the ergonomics impressed me. It felt like a fine leather glove. Decades later, my brother-in-law bought a Lotus Espirit Turbo. It was wicked quick and it handled like a finely tuned racecar.
