Some pics of my models...

It's been a while since I posted anything. I have been planning for a few years to display my models, but never seemed to get around to it. But life is ever evolving; sold the house, bought a condo on a golf course, and have slowly been unpacking the boxes of cars. It occurred to me that I can't take them with me so I may as well enjoy them while I can.

So Here's some pics of the final results of my efforts. Now, these are not quite all of my models. By the time I realized that I needed another cabinet, the manufacturer discontinued the one I had, but that's ok. I actually think another cabinet would be one too many, (I know, there's no such thing as one too many!).

Anyway, I installed the LED lighting and added some foam window insulation to help control any dust. I think the results came out pretty good. They do look better in person than in theses poor photo's but I hope you'll enjoy them none-the-less.

One final thought before the pics.... I wanted to have a bit of fun with my models, so, yes, all of my Mustangs are in red/torch red; the corvettes are alternating red/white/blue; and all of the British cars are in British racing green, or some version of it.

Like the old saying, it may not be much, but at least it's mine. Enjoy.

Quite an eclectic collection. I like the Mustang evolution display.

Just wondering............

Considering your groupings and the great framed pieces you have on the walls, have you considered labels for your cars?

Frank, I have thought of several things I'd like to do including labeling...

the cars. I remember seeing your labels in a post some time ago, and was really impressed with them. I haven't made up my mind on the next phase. I have been collecting images of the men behind the cars and the times they lived in that I would possibly like to mount above the models similar to what Jay Leno has done with his collection.

That is a great idea........

your collection and display has that 'museum' feel to it already and could only be enhanced by such move

I found the LED lights on Amazon...

I had been considering 18in light strips, but the 12in strips were on sale and came with remote on/off/dimmer control included. At night I can dim the lights down so that the models are just kind of glowing. It looks pretty cool. I also found the rubber grommets to fill the holes I drilled in the back board on Amazon, as well.

Neat & tidy Gary, featuring some nice "stuff." I wish I had a hobby room that looked that clean!
