Here is a little trivia that some might not know, the Batmobile was actually a 1955 Lincoln Futura show car, it was built in Italy at a cost of $250,000 dollars and after it's useful life was over it ended up in the hands of George Barris who from what I have learn purchased the car in rough shape for $1.00. The car was turned into the Batmobile. Here are some photos of the car. According to research the car once it became the Batmobile was considered very valuable and was insured for $125,000 dollars.Â

Coincidently, I recently posted this for Rich on another topic-thread. A friend is building a 1/6 Shelby Mustang and Rich may be considering this 1/6 Batmobile-the largest "mass-produced" scale version available today. 1:1 replicas can be had for $95,000-$120,000 depending on options.Â
