Update IV.........Exoto Jaguar D Type Replacement....
Believe it or not, yesterday, I received a replacement and it is....(also believe it or not....)No 12.
And no, it is not the same model I sent back a month ago coming back with just a new frame. It is a complete brand new model.
Now, it seems that I am at the top of the priority list from Customer Service and their last email express their commitment to give full support if I need any assistance with any issue.
Well, now it is wonderful to have so good customer service and fast reply because I am out of luck with this model.
A triangular aluminum piece was at the bottom of the frame styro pod. I figured out from where it is coming from and it is back in place. The other issue is more serious.
The RF brake rotor is seized and need to be free spinning to mount the wheel assembly. All the tolerances of the caliper assembly and back mounting plate are fine. It looks like the hub assembly is too tight and putting too much torsional stress on the very delicate suspension components.
I already have a reply from my email to CS that they will follow up on the subject with a CC to "TK".
For now, It is a big improvement: I have a model back in the No 12 livery I ordered before no matter It is retired and I have the Customer Service handling my issues. (stay tuned)
Now
I'm sorry to hear of the issues you are having with the Jaguar.
I received my No. 12 car last month and like Marlowe, I required a replacement part. I contacted them immediately upon receipt and opted to receive the replacement part, which was sent immediately. The part arrived quickly and I'm overall happy with the model and experience. This is the third XS model I've purchased from them. The other two, the '51 Alfa Romeo 159 and '58 Ferrari 246, both arrived without any issues. I did request a replacement instruction sheet for the Ferrari as it had a small tear and I wanted to possibly use the artwork in my display. It too was sent promptly.
As soon as I find some time I'll photography mine and share some images!
Mine was not "fixable"...........
What would you have done with a broken tie rod if not ask for a replacement?
Tell the truth? Would you have tried to fix a thousand dollar model by yourself with this issue?
Not me. I believe I deserve complete satisfaction for my money and Customer Service has been horrible until I loudly complained.
Hey, it is less expensive to ship a 50 cents replacement part than replacing a complete model.
Are you trying to tell me I am wrong?
Just sharing my experience. No judgement on your position/experience.
