Renault's RE20 Turbo Formula One car which ran from 1980 to 1981 was to be a pure French endeavor. French designed; French built and French driven... right down to the Michelin tires. The 1.5 liter Gordini EF1 at 520 hp was 50 hp stronger than the ubiquitous 3.0 liter Cosworth DFV V8 but it's power was soon eclipsed by Ferrari's 560 hp turbocharged engine. In its best year of 1980, this #16 car, driven by René Arnoux, won the Brazilian and South African races. Model by Exoto.
