[Closed] 1/24 Auction has become stagnant

I never check the auction anymore.

There is never anything I want. I have about 20 models on my auction want list and once in a great while one will be listed but almost always at a ridiculously high price.

There should be some limits on how many times someone
can put the same items on the auction over and over again,
and some limits on how many items one person can have
listed at the same time.

One person is totally dominating the auction, and I think this
will cause other people to lose interest.

I do re-list.....but drop the price accordingly...if it doesn't sell the second time, I replace it with something else that might be more attractive to collectors. But, some of the prices are outrageous for a "good" or "excellent" rating....also, when selling, it would be nice if there was a description of the car's condition....NIB, MIB, Excellent, etc...why the rating...explain.

It's a delicate balancing act, trying to advise folks on this sort of thing while not interfering with their right to ask whatever they want for their babies. We have a completed sale ratio policy in place but we try to work with sellers to get there, which we have done in this case. He's tried to make some improvements but it is apparent we still have some struggles here.

We'll have it worked out soon.

This is good news. I have kept silent, but my thoughts have been in line with all of the posts here

I'm considering trading some 1/24 cars off for .22 guns but I'd rather find people here in central florida who can look at the cars first and avoid issues like paint rash or other complaints.

There is nothing like inspecting a model before buying it.

My wife keeps making noises about moving the Tennessee so I need to downsize my collections. Also have many 1/18 cars.

The problem is really severe in my opinion. It is not just that the prices are too high for the merchandise offered--that is not my decision or call to make. The seller can charge whatever he or she wants. But it is the constant relisting that I am complaining about. It is ridiculous. It clogs up the auction site and makes it so that you don't want to look at things to buy or list anything to sell. I look there practically every day. But all these relistings that don't sell shouldn't be there. And they make me want to look there much less often.
Or, since these items are not selling, perhaps they should be grouped together and listed as a collection in a different section of the auction site

Done. The current auction has pass? cars no one wants and at artificial prices run Over And Over. At least the other auctions have something new as well as new participants. I have found several cars over there while the offerings here don't deserve a look. Just my 2 cents worth MHO. LOL, LOL, Ho Hum Yawn!

But, in all fairness, I think it's hard to accuse us of controlling prices and posting artificially high prices at the same time. We're working hard to make the auction viable. If you take a look at it currently, thanks to Jay's efforts and involvement, we just terminated the problem listings mentioned. Before we ever make a move like that, though, we spend time and effort trying to counsel the seller(s) and help them make viable listings. We also go to bat for folks that experience problems and we do it personally. I don't think you'll find that level of service or protection on any other auction site.

And John sorry it had to come to removing the listings, but honestly it was probably for the best. With just 15 ratings and 4 negatives it was probably just a matter of time
