Only 84 of these powerful and beautifully designed boattailed speedsters were built. In the depths of the Depression Auburn hoped that this flag ship automobile would at least spur sales of their more economic models and was used as "eye candy" in showrooms. Known as the "Baby Duesenberg", this paean to the Art Deco movement was designed by Alan Leamy and built by Union City. This model came with their most powerful 100 HP 268 cid Lycoming straight 8 coupled to a 2 speed rear axle. This model features a radiator guard, Pilot Ray driving lamps, chrome wire wheels, a Tropic Aire heater and a Philco Transitone radio. This is our 12th club car by Automodello and 1 of 230 made.
I assume the 1/1 had the Pilot Rays while the model does not. A terrific model from Automodello I'm glad to own.
@bob-jackman Yep. Pilot Rays were on a list of accessories that also included steel covers for the spares that this particular model doesn't have. Although the boattail body is the same on all, I haven't found two exactly alike, especially with radiator protectors which sport everything from a thick mesh to this model's exquisite grill/shell.
so glad to have this. I think someone here had another color sample? Beautiful closeups Rich, thanks.
A gorgeous model and one of my favorites.

@geoff-jowett Lu has black/silver, I have one them too, don't know how many of them were made but they were commissioned by Mint Models when they were handling the DCCC models distribution. They sold at least one on eBay.
Thanks guys for sharing these. They are way cool.💯😊
