This is the first of Sun Star's Routemaster London buses that debuted in February of 1956. This first model had a conventional front-engined, half cab, open rear design and evolved into the '60s to have the engine placed in the rear transversely mounted. I also wanted to get one of the 1940s models but there were budgetary constraints at the time. This first edition was released in 2004 in it's introductory livery, but I loved the vintage advertisements on subsequent releases. Compared to the Bedford tour buses, the interiors are more spartan and designed for a much greater passenger capacity.

Never realized the preselector gearbox was remote and not fitted to the engine.
