I purchased this 1987 Buick Grand National because it was listed as being 1/18 scale. It turned out to be 1/24 scale, I don't really collect 1/24 scale however I ended up with this one. Here are some photos of the car, it is by GMP and is very well done with excellent detail, it even comes with front carpet floor mats that have the Grand National logo on them. I did not put the floor mats in the car.

John, that is a great model. GMP made some amazing diecast. They are just gaining the respect they've deserved all along and prices on the secondary market reflect that. As good, and in some cases better than DM/FM models.

Geno, I agree with you.  Fortunately, I was able to purchase all their models in 1/24 on the secondary market when they were cheap.  Missing only 1 the 69 Mercury Cale Yarborough Blue/White.  I'll find it one day.

Before GMP went full time into 1/18 scale. I was buying every issue they were turning out in 1/24 scale from the Buicks, to the GTOs, to the Mercury race cars to the Mustangs. These cars fit right in with the mint cars and take a back seat to none.

nothing I can add to all the above. Just a quick pic. The only model in my display/showcases displayed with the bonnet open. Superb engine bay.

The Buick models from GMP are all amazing. I don't how many of them were made, but I have five from the Grand National, the GNX and the T-Types. Two of the ones I have were done in a joint effort w/DM. The others were found very cheap on the secondary market, all three for just over $100. I am thrilled to have them all. I have five of their T-Types in 1:18 as well. They are nice models, but the 1:24 models, for me, are much better.

I have this Buick GN, I believe it was GMP's first 1/24 scale model.  Very well detailed, but it got a bad rap when it was issued due to the lack of "heft" because the chassis was plastic.  Anyone have pics of the GNX?  I wouldn't mind having one of those!

Not a big fan of this body style but I have one, mostly because it was an approval sample, although I suspect it is exactly the same as the production model.

@geno

Those GMP Cyclone Spoilers are terrific, the interiors are incredible.  You may be interested in doing what I did to mine.  I took off the grill assembly and BMF'd the back of the headlights.  It turned these supercars into superstars!
