beautiful model, finely photographed......the limited color palette here serves this WCPD admirably .....such perfect choices on this shoot
The '59 Chevy Impala will always hold a place in my heart. My first car ever was a '59 white hardtop with red interior. With those incredible fins in the back, I truly felt like I was driving the Bat-Mobile. I've mentioned this before, but something fun deserves to be told again. In the country back roads of Cottage Grove, MN back in the late 1960's, I'd get my Chevy up to 80 or 90 miles an hour on the hills of those back roads and I'd feel the rear-end of the car literally feeling like I was going to take flight. The car had exceptional zip to it and the ignition would start in "all gears", meaning if it was in "Drive" when I turned the ignition key, the car would bolt forward and take off. It was a freak thing with the transmission that a mechanic friend of mine did to the car. Great memories indeed!

The 1959 Chevrolet was one of my favorite cars back then. That looks like a great model.

This, and the Gothic Gold convertible, were my first West Coast Diecasts. Beautiful pictures John!
George, what your mechanic friend did was bypass your Chevrolet's neutral safety switch. This allows the car to start only when the gearshift is in Park or Neutral. My Mustang's switch went bad, and I bypassed it with a jumper wire so I could start the car until I could replace it. It was a trip to start the car in drive---instant shift and away you went!
@pete-rovero Pete those are the same two colors I bought from Brian. I loved having conversations with Brian but it was hard getting off the phone with him.
