I love everything about that model. It screams "1937" and the color is perfect.
Darn, the older I get the faster the weeks / days just fly by....

In the magic of your work,we see, simultaneously, into both the past and the future .....................Thanks John, for such a fine look at this gem
One of my all-time favorite models photo'ed wonderfully!!
I have it. I love it. It is one of the very few models that I added to my collection that preceded 1940. It was just a "must have". Hey John Merritt...just a question. Are you 10 days in to the future? Your heading for "Model Dose" today is 1/27/23.
Of course it's possible I'm lagging behind 10 days.

Oops. Sorry guys. it seems I fat-fingered that. I was trying to get this posted before I left to go out of town for work. I'll fix it.

No problem at all John. This is the reason erasers were invented. And White-Out too. Thankfully here on the Forum, there is an "Edit" button to make things right. THANKS as always for providing "Model Dose" most every day. It is appreciated!

@georgeschire This really is one of the very coolest looking ‘30’s cars. Last week I was browsing Danbury’s on eBay and saw a Dictator in a dark maroon. It looked amazing, and I thought it must be a re-paint, as I had never seen one like it. When I read the description section, it stated that it was a model given to employees, and never offered to the public for sale. I have no idea if that’s accurate or not, but I do know I couldn’t afford it. It may still be on there, I haven’t gone back to check. I did pick up an Inca silver ‘59 Vette that I’ve been wanting, so all was not lost.

Kevin the story as I recall it was that the model was a repaint that was produced at the time DMs Chinese factory was closing, and that a few managed to "escape", unauthorized by DM, from the factory.
Passed on this because it was outside of my collection criteria. Very nice none the less.

@sizedoesmatter When I went back to eBay to check on the Dictator, I noticed that the box lettering was in the car’s color, as Danbury did with it’s models, so some real thought went into the production. The more I look at it, the more I want it, kind of like when I was an adolescent and I saw Sophia Loren.
