The final Ford Fairlane to feature in these photo selections. For me, this is the finest one of them all. As I said before, I prefer the style of the '55 over the '56, bit this particular model is Fairlane perfection all the same. The colors are perfect and have so much to say about the 50s and the variety the car buyer had to choose from. The 50s brought more choices together from all of the auto brands, styles, design and colors than any other decade before or since. For my eyes, this model is everything the 50s had to offer.

Sans Connie Kit - they are the perfect pair!
The black and pink color combo is about as good as it gets for this car IMHO.

PINK?? That's Sunset Coral! I'd bet you'd describe the other car as Orange! Ah, well, OK, it IS Orange, But MANDARIN Orange.

I agree with Tony! And again, in my opinion the '56 Ford is as good as it got for the fifties. The '55 was nice, but the refinements made for the '56 made it perfect. Then in '57 (in my opinion) the styling went south a little bit.

Real pretty color combos and very period too.

George;
I love the styling of the '57 Fairlane (especially the tail end), although I must say it doesn't beat that of the '56. Many others loved the '57 too because, as most of us are aware, it outsold Chevrolet in '57. I wonder if part of the reason for this was how much better the Fairlane was trimmed in order to facilitate the beautiful 2-tone color combos it offered that year.
I bought a 56 Victoria in 1961 and loved that car. Sold it when I went into the Navy. I also love the 57 except for the massive bumpers.
fabulous photo essay John, thanks.
I still reckon something is not right with those headlight lenses, particularly noticeable in pics 2 and 3.
You could be right, but these photos were taken in March 2012, right after I received the model. So, they came that way from DM. I've checked photos thru 2018, the last time I had the model out for a photoshoot, they remain the same. Thid model isn't readily available at the moment (it's packed again) but when I can I'll check it.

Oh, and my 2 cents for the '55, '56 & '57 Ford Fairlanes. I prefer the '55 to the '56 but neither holds its own against the '57, that is my favorite 50s Ford.

thanks or the quick response John. I didnt mean to imply there was something wrong with just your model, heaven forbid! These are pics from models on sale on ebay now so it appears it is an issue (?) with all the 56s it seems.
