For 1959, the Impala became its own series and the top-tier Chevrolet model. In 1958, the Impala was only offered as hardtop & convertible, as a full series in 1959, a 4-door sedan and hardtop sport sedan as well as a 4-door station wagon, designated the Nomad. A complete redesign greeted buyers of the Impala for 1959, making the '58 a stand-alone model year for Chevrolet. The '59 Impala was slightly lower & wider than the previous '58.
A model of the '59 Impala was 1st offered by WCPD and was issued in early 2005, making it the 1st model offered by this new model company. Available in 3 colors in convertible form and three colors in hardtop form. They were extremely well-done models that are highly sought after today.
The Danbury Mint also issued a '59 Impala, 1st offered in 2006 as a convertible, and in 2009 as a convertible and a hardtop. These were also excellent models offered in three different colors from the WCPD versions. So, all told, a nice range of color options in two body styles could be had by the model collector.
This post features a WCPD model and a Danbury Mint model. The WCPD model is a convertible finished in Gothic Gold. The DM model is a hardtop finished in Cameo Coral.

My two favorite '59's! Wonderful photos John!
Great pics John! Being that a '59 Chevy Impala 2-door hardtop (white with red interior) was the very first car I ever owned, the '59 Chevy will always be a favorite. And truth be told, I loved the way it looked. I really felt like Batman with those fins! Both Danbury Mint and West Coast Precision Diecast gave us outstanding '59 Chevy's.
I have the two above you featured, plus 3 other hardtops and the red/white convertible from WCPD and the turquois convertible from DM. I also had the DM silver convertible, but the key word is "had", as it was a victim to the dreaded cancer rot, and eventually bent in half, along with literally falling apart.
All the others on my shelves are treasured.

George, My silver DM looks exactly like yours. So far it hasn't fallen apart but it"s well on the way.
If you look closely at George's photos, you'll see that mine is in the same sad shape. Which is a shame, because this WAS a beautiful model.

Dad had a new '59 Impala 2dr hrdtp in white with the multi hued blue interior and since I was 6yrs old I went absolutely nuts in love with that Chevy !!!!!!
@bob-jackman, hope yours doesn't get to the "fall apart" stage. My doors eventually fell off. I sadly chucked the car in the garbage can one morning. Very disappointing because it was a beautiful model.

@jcarnutz, it was a beautiful model. Up to the time that it decayed, it was my favorite of the mint '59's.

@rich-sufficool, I agree. The color scheme is spectacular and the attention to detail on the dash is perfect. Your photos of the interior made me run up and look at my model again. Incredible precision!

@rich-sufficool I agree with you about the colors on this model. My favorite color combination on any of the WCPD 59 Impalas.
They certainly were beautiful 1959 Chevrolet Impalas, John. The real '59 car really was "All new, all over again !"
