The way that the dark pink band ends upwards at the tail light makes this model pop IMO.

Actually Tony, there are THREE versions of FM's '55 Packard.  The third one being the GREEN PEBBLE BEACH version.  It like the other two, are FM masterpieces.

Oh and for those that don't know, aside from the green version I mentioned above, the other one is the BLUE version.

@georgeschire

Got all 3 and love them all. One is Jade White, Rose Quartz and Gray Pearl. The other is White & Sapphire and the Pebble Beach version is Jade White, Emerald Green & Jade Green.

Great pics John. I remember seeing an FM ad for this model in a magazine and this pink lady was my first diecast buy. I now own all three along with the collecting bug. 25 years later and I still can't escape the grip of this hobby.

I have both the pink and green versions.  If I had room I'd have bought the blue also, they are that nice.

Regarding these FM '55 Packard's, I have always felt that they were slightly bigger than 1:24 scale.  Is it just me, or was that really the case?  They certainly appear slightly larger next to other 1:24's.

OK George, you've got me going upstairs to check mine out in their wall showcase...back in a minute!

Sorry about the reflections its 8.46am on a sunny morning here in Melbourne. I only have the one FM, and here next to DMs 1956 hardtop it looks exactly the same size.

Interestingly I've just noticed they both appear to be very big cars when you compare them to the Cadillacs and Packards above and below in the display case.

THANKS Geoff.  I too, have compared FM's '55 Packard's to other 1:24 scale models.  For some reason, they just appear (to my eyes) to be slightly bigger.  Not complaining, only pointing it out.  As far as I'm concerned they are among FM's finest replica's.  I wouldn't part with any of them from my collection.
