In the early '90s, Ken "Posies" Fenical created what is known as the "1937 Studebaker Streamliner". It was branded 'Studebaker' because he literally started with the car's front fenders, but it takes other styling cues from mid-thirties Cords and the Lincoln Zephyr. Underneath, however, it's pure Corvette in chassis and drivetrain sporting a 400hp LT-1 V8 and an overdrive GM transmission. The all steel body had the trim work done in wood and then cast in fiberglass. The interior boasts tan leather with an ostrich graining and a jute and bamboo enclosure. The body is finished in "PPG Luminescence Gold Razzleberry Paint" with hand painted faux wood grain. It won the "America's Most Beautiful Roadster Award" (AMBR) and continues to win awards including, most recently, the 2019 Concours d'Elegance. ERTL released this art deco masterpiece in 1/24 as part of a brief series of acclaimed hot rods under the Testors brand and, for about $15, pretty much captured the car's essence. There's a lot of molded in details in the interior that really cry out for at least some paint detailing. The stance is a tad high, but the proportions are just great.

That's long been one of my favorite SuffiCOOL builds!
I have all three of the Testors' Posies cars.

Actually that car came built. If it had been a kit, I definitely would have put my 'stank' on it as Danny "Count" Koker would say.
