@chav Actually, I was comparing FM model pricing to GLM model pricing.  I have seen the EMCs listed at amounts I would more likely put to my vintage 1:1 fund, rather than into a 1:24 model.  They are undoubtedly very beautiful models, but at those prices the odds tip me more toward another 1:1 acquisition.  And, there is that space issue I mentioned.

Just as an experiment, I just bought this 1:24 1929 Rolls Royce Phantom I Cabriolet de Ville for 44,90€.  My 1:43 Bentleys and RRs cost substantially more than that, by 2-3 times the amount, at best.

GDH, my impression was that you are in NY, but it seems you are in Europe?

In the first post you compared FM to B&G.

Martix came in you second post, and GLM in your 3rd post. I was commenting on your 1st post, that doesn't mention GLM.

@chav  I see where the confusion arises.  I was not using the B&G post for my comparison, for that model would equal ten times the amount I paid for the 1:24 model.  My comparison was the FM model to GLM models I have purchased, where the cost of the latter was nearly four times the cost of the FM 1:24 model.

@chav  I have been on this planet for some time and lived in several locations in the US and Europe.  Currently, I reside in Europe, sometimes in DE and other times in FR.

@chav  I forgot to mention I would be interested to learn more about the B&G models you have.

Oh, OK. My previous comment on the US tariffs (in different thread) was based on the presumption that you live in the US, but I noticed you are always referencing European auctions, particularly because you can by the FM 20-grand and the 1928 RR for $25 each in the US. They are some of the most common FM models, and both have diecast rot issues.

I am originally from Bulgaria, I live in the US since 1999, I visit Europe every year as I have many relatives there and technically can ship to Bulgaria to avoid the US tariffs but it is too much trouble.

Will take some pictures and post here, I don't own any EMC branded models ... unfortunately

@chav  'Diecast rot issues' must be the reason I see such low prices for the FM models.  Where is the major degradation taking place in the FM models?  Is it joints, moving parts, chrome?

Everything that is made from diecast (zamak alloy) could be affected, I have FM 20-grand with degradation of the doors and hood. FM RR with degrading doors. The chromed pieces are electroplated plastic and they are notoriously sturdy, no issues there.
