While mom is cooking Sunday dinner, dad takes the kids for a ride to the park. (This way, dad gets to smoke his stinky cigar). Daddy's little girl sits up front leaving crying 'Junior' in the back crying while clutching his Teddy Bear. This custom built 1912 Packard 1-48 Victoria was actually owned by mom, Mrs Theodate Pope Riddle. She was a successful architect who was gifted this car, along with a chauffeur, by her father. Before she settled down, she took it to England and drove it all the way to Scotland which was quite the adventure in 1915. Lovingly restored, this car still exists today. No one knows what it cost the old man, but a factory body cost would have cost $5200 then. The engine was cast in 3 blocks as a 6 cylinder T-Head of 574 cid and it produced a substantial 74 HP. This Franklin Mint model was one of their really well done Brass Era images.

Amazingly realistic - the leather strap on the trunk and tartan blanket are perfect!  Judging by your recent posts, I imagine the figures are your own creations ? Again, they're perfect.

Rich, great photos as always.  Not something I would collect, but I like the history behind the car.

@charles-rockett These were really cheap Victorian figures for a period village display. I bought them in the Christmas section of a Home Depot of all places. The  figures had good bones but horrible paint, so I repainted them as best I could. They look pretty good from 2 feet away. They were cast in pretty crumbly resin so I didn't try reposition the arm and hand to grasp the steering wheel.

an old favorite. Back in the mid 90s when I maybe had 20-30 FM 1/24s and they were sitting on shelves in the lounge room, I remember this was the model car and non car people would always go to first. Thanks Rich
