In that decade surrounding WWll, an incredible amount of detailing was put into the brightwork, Grills were literally works of art. The badging was cloisonne crests, the hood ornaments were sculpture pieces. The bumpers were also ornate. The side spears were waterfall designed with accent paint in the troughs. The sides of the hood and rear gravel guards were also embellished. This 1941 Chevrolet Special Deluxe convertible demonstrates what the GM Design Studio did to dress up even their entry level vehicles. This Danbury Mint model perfectly replicates everything that makes this "Special Deluxe" special.
One of my favorite DM models. You've captured the beauty of it with your pics.

Special it is. Beautiful pics Rich, of a gorgeous model. 💯👍
Fabulous pictures Rich. The 41 Chevies from DM are certainly rich in detail. The coupe with it's mohair wool interior can bring back memories to this old guy that still makes me itch.
my very first DM, bought from Roy Rauch from his site, 20-25 years ago? So impressed with the detail. And did that buy start something! Great pics Rich, thanks.
Beautiful model car. Thanks for the pictures.

@bob-jackman At least they found a use for all that WWll surplus mohair.
An excellent model. I went and looked at my database to see how long I had it and discovered I had 2 of them. Not sure how I managed that, so I guess I must really like it.

Now just where are they displayed... 🙌🤔
I only have 1 displayed. The 2nd one I bought must still be boxed. I haven't went looking for it yet.
