33 years ago, this Danbury Mint 1959 Cadillac Series 62 convertible was first released. This Cadillac ended the the excess of the 1950s with the longest, heaviest Cadillac ever with tail fins so outrageous, that Congress was considering regulations on their designs as a safely measure to prevent pedestrians being harpooned by them. In 1966, my buddy next door bought a used and somewhat tired looking convertible and we went to the weekly Saturday night promenade on State Street in Perth Amboy in another fruitless attempt to pick up chicks. It felt to me like we were riding on a parade float. DM went on the reissue this model as a repaint and the most desirable was the iconic "Pink Cadillac".

great old model, those interior closeups are great Rich.
We had an Elvis impersonator appear at the theatre I managed. Elvis and his Colonel Tom drove up in one. I insisted it remain parked out the front, but before that Colonel Tom drove me around the block in it. Like sitting in a lounge room. Fabulous experience!

Still an amazing model for it's age. I'm glad to have it. One you can get at very reasonable prices on the secondary market. It's worthy of any collection. Again, thanks Rich. I really do enjoy these.💯👍

Seeing your posts are always a treat Rich. I can't imagine a model collection without these cars in it. 33 years ago? Seems like yesterday.
