I guess this 1956 Thunderbird model has got to be pushing 30 years old, but for its old tech, it still looks pretty nice. Yes, it still has the dog leg hinges and the rudimentary steering components almost drag on the ground. The finish on the model is perfect, the dash is nicely done. The port-holed hard top sits gap-free. The 225 hp Y-block 312 with Ford-O-matic transmission, although sans wiring is well replicated with a pad printed Ford logo on the battery. The model sits right and looks right.

It's got all the important things ..... it looks like a stylish 1956 Thunderbird, just reduced in size 24 times. Good oldie from Danbury !

My database shows its release in 1989, so that makes it nearly 35 years old. No matter when, it has always been one I liked since I added it to my collection in 1992. This and the slightly newer white version are both great models.

Wonderful pics Rich, thanks for the look back.

I agree John.  I have most all the T-birds from both mints.  Love them all.
