Hey guys, I remember on the OLD Diecast Forum, there was a section that allowed members to share photos of their collections.  Would it possible they might be archived somewhere, and perhaps resurrected here?  Don't know about others, but I'm always interested in seeing others collections and how they are displayed.  It's also a great conversation getter too.  So just curious.

George,

You may be referring to the following, which I found in the internet archives. Some have photos still, but some do not. This is from 2008.

wow now that brings back memories.  I was too inhibited to post in the first couple of years after finding the sight, overwhelmed by all these incredibly knowledgeable car and model car guys.  Now of course you cant shut him up!

I remember those collections pics well George. Similar question was asked a couple of years ago, maybe more? and I bought up how incredible a collector from Argentina displayed his collection. Recessed display cases in the walls and 2 way displays are featured. Chav kindly recalled the collectors details at the time and posted them. Mentioning 2 way displays reminds me that Pete R has created the same to display some of his Mustangs. Hopefully Pete sees this post and will again post his pics.

From my research, it appears the "Picture This" feature ran from November 2005 to 2009.

Sometimes, all photos appear, sometimes not.

Be prepared to spend some time on the site as it moves very slow. Very slow.

I'd be happy to post some pictures of my collection if there is any interest.  My collection runs 1/43-1/18.

OKAY, let's all start sharing pics of our collections!  It's our collections that have brought us all together, so why not share all that we can.  Let's bombard the Forum with our collections of cars!!!!  No matter how big or small, all are of interest.

Geoff, happy to post my "in wall" display.  It houses most of my pony cars.

For location reference:

I designed it with 5 glass shelves to hold 3 cars per shelf when I only had about 12 Franklin Mint cars.  I figured 18 cars would be my limit.  That was in 1996. However, after discovering the Diecast Zone shortly thereafter things got out of hand (Thank you TP!).  Currently I have in the mid 300's of 1/24 scale, and a few dozen of other scales.

Here's my collection.  Lousy pics, too many reflections.  But you get the idea.

OMG Mark, no apologies needed.  Professionally photography is not a requirement.  Love your displays and layouts.  THANKS for sharing!

George, your cars are displayed beautifully.  There's not a space in my house that could fit your wall units.  Well done!

I do have a couple of curio cabinets.  I display muscle cars/intermediates in one and Corvettes/compacts in the other.  Also, I have 4 Carney display cases for '50's and '60's full-size cars.  Here, have a look:

@pete-rovero

Thanks Pete!  My wall units were designed by me and made by a former brother-in-law.  The underneath cabinets have all my model memorabilia, car books, car magazines, plastic cases in them.  Since I would never be happy having my models spread out throughout our house, these cabinets allow me to enjoy all the cars in one fun place.

And regarding YOUR displays, they're awesome how you have them.  And LOL, you know I spotted my favorites of your models, those gorgeous '55 Oldsmobile's.  We might have to do some more business sometime this year.  Thanks for sharing my friend and hope you are doing well.
