Well, yeah, if it's a 1940 CASE DCS High-Crop Sugarcane Special!
My latest 1/16th scale farm tractor. Long a fan of the Case D Series tractors, this one is in high-crop configuration; my favorite iteration of the farm tractor. It is made by SpecCast and is not only among their Highly Detailed Classic Series but was made in conjunction with the National Farm Toy Museum and chosen as their 2006 Special Edition, Series 4, Number 7.
It joins my National Farm Toy Museum 2005 issue, Series 4, Number 6, an Allis Chalmers D-14 Hi-Crop and my 1939 Case DC-4 tractors.
Allis Chalmers D-14:
Case DC-4:
Case was started in 1842 by Jerome Increase Case (1819-1891) and was named the J.I. Case Threshing Machine Company. Through the years the company built threshing machines, farm implements and even automobiles, from 1911 to 1927. During WWII they transitioned over to making airplane parts for the B-26 and doors for the Sherman tank. Tractors became the mainstay of the firm and it was from 1939 to 1953 that the "D Series" Row-Crop tractors were built. They were made in Racine, Wisconsin.
The variants over the years were the D, a standard-tread machine, the DC which was a row-crop version, the DC-3 narrow-front, DC-4 wide-front, DH a wide-front with turning brakes and this DCS High-Crop.
In Flambeau Red, may I present the 1940 Case DCS High-Crop:
I'm telling you Tony, you have to quit showing all the tractors. I'm getting really interested. LOL Great photos.
Fine images of this hard-worker ! It's a very good looking and well detailed tractor. It is also quite interesting in this configuration.
An outstanding piece, congratulations on this latest acquisition Tony
Thanks fellas!
