Well, "Official Truck Week" has quietly come to a close. After a much heated discussion in committee, the proposal to continue OTW was rejected. A new vote will be proposed in the coming weeks, maybe a more positive outcome will result at that time. Until then, this week will just unfold to an assortment of models with no particular theme... So post on and have fun.

We shall begin with these two little gems.

1939 & 1940 Ford Deluxe Coupes

Both models were issued by Danbury Mint. The '39 was issued in 2009. A LE, #2043 of 5000. it is in Jet Black. The 2nd of DMs '40 Coupes was issued in 2000 and is in Cloud Gray.

Both of these models offer simple perfection and a good representation of basic transportation in the late 30s & early 40s just before the world changed with WWII.

Ahhhhhhhhhhh......the bittersweet regret of truck week`s demise, expertly tempered by the offering of these two lovelies !!

Fine little wonders these Fords, each a star on it`s own, remarkable as presented in a pair!

It`s always the rarer of the colors that garner the most attention...the "Cloud Gray" is phenomenal

I have both of these cute little Ford's and love them equally.  The '39 and '40 design has always been a knockout in my opinion.  I'd vote it the most perfect styling of any car of that era.  I also have DM's red version of the '40 and couple of their convertibles as well.  Timeless Classic in every sense of the word.  Great pics John!

Excellent post John. Add in the convertibles, wagons and two door sedan and the mints pretty much had things  covered. Exciting times to be a model car collector.

If I had not limited my collecting to model years 1949 through 1960, one or both of these fine Fords would have been in my collection.

Recently added the Cloud Gray Ford ("gray" is a strange definition of this color, Ford must had an obsession with color gray or the word "gray", remember the "Cordoba gray"...) . Got it fairly cheap with a missing door handle but will find a red donor car or search my parts boxes, whichever is easier ...
