DANBURY MINT sample & development (PICS)..only two left. Here's the next to last one...

..David Angeloni, feast your eyes, my good fellow. DM's "Oh if it were only so" 1957 Chrysler Imperial Crown Convertible in Horizon Blue.

On his visit, I heard Rick say, "I had always liked the idea of a 1950's baby blue convertible. You can't get cars in these colors any more! Yes, we had plans for a hardtop and we even photographed a two-headlight car. Imperials came with either two or four headlights in '57, depending on which state you were in. Quad lights were not legal in all states until 1958."

Keep in mind guys, this model in its 1/24th scale presentation, is never better than in person. But I tried my best to render what I saw for your viewings here. Enjoy.

an Opulent Beauty

Thanks Tony.......the way the top and boot cling to,and flow into the surrounding metal.....what an elegant fit!!

Rick`s point on the color is well taken....my first car,a `61 Ford, was this color

Extremely sharp. I was waiting for a '60 Chrysler; but, 'this' would've tempted me.

If I recall - 'Horizon Blue' was also a GM-color.... '60 Corvette.

WOW! That hand sample looks ready for production....

Why oh why would they stop there? That's a helluva lot of money down the drain. Does the tooling still exist?
