Doug Ford question fo r you ...
What year is your Marquis? NOT the 77-8, the newer one? My friend HAD a 1998 Crown Victoria and he still has the shop manuals. Car is long gone and he asked if I needed or wanted the for my Mark VIII (almost completely different car) and I have the shop manuals for my Mark so I dont need them. I just thought of YOU? Any interest or need?

My Merc is a 2004. With only 60,000 miles it's just broken in with the 4.6.

Ok a 98 Manual prolly wouldnt work for everything. Still its NOT under warranty anymore so.... Do you do your own repairs like me?

Generally not. So far the only thing I've done is 4 new tires and oil changes.

That would be me. And my Grand Marquis is a 2010. The only difference between mine and Dougs are the dashboard decorations and the taillight/headlight group and minor trim/appearance. There are others but, essentially, this vehicle has come down since 1992 with minor changes/adjustments to the engine/chassis/wheels. 2006 was the last change. But it is this lack of change that made this and its sister(Crown Victoria) so successful.

It's been a great car. lots of room, power, trunk space and a full sized seat. I like that most of all. I hate how smaller cars sets end half way up my thigh.. I'll keep the old GM as long as it runs.

Doug, my daily driver is a 2001 Ford Crown Victoria LX and everything you said about your Mercury applies to my Crown.My car now has 87,000 miles on it and has every option available in 2001 including the handling package. A few years ago when it was announced that these cars were going to be discontinued I decided to buy a new Mercury or Crown but found out that the handling package was no longer an option. I guess I'll be driving mine forever.
