This 1921 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud 40/50 dual cowl, boat tail, touring car had it's body made by Dick Brockman & Co of Reading, England from .065" copper sheets somehow without rivets or welds. By 1921, an 80 HP 7.5 liter 6 cylinder with 4 speed transmission powered the chassis. It is dazzling in the sunlight and the myriad of reflections are darned near psychedelic.

Wonderful pictures of a wonderful model. It never fails to stop someone from asking questions about it when groups are touring my collection.

what a model! So glad I was able to find a MIB example some years back. How good were FMs standards at the time? Great pics as always Rich, thank you.

A favorite of mine too. 2-3 years ago I accidently found an early prototype on eBay, the seller had no idea what they were selling (got 4 prototypes from that seller), anyway FM was planning to do rotating headlights operated by a lever next to the driver, but obviously they abandoned that feature. I haven't finished restoring the model, so I haven't shown it here yet.

@chav That's so weird that he could have all those prototypes and be unaware of what they were. Most ex-employees would know. Perhaps your seller was a dumpster diver.

Resellers, liquidators, heirs etc. The owner probably died or was too demented and didn't remember where and how they got them, and the kids sold the collection at garage sale... or the seller bought them cheap at estate sale... These were all listed as parts cars, one was clearly a color sample (a friend of mine, fellow collector, also saw that one and we were bidding independently), one had no backstamp on the undercarriage (barely notable on an undercarriage photo). And when you find one, then you scrutinize the photos of the rest of the models for sale by that seller. And, bingo, the RR was the jewel (at least for me). What I found weird is that I got them for pennies, which means that that nobody recognized them as prototypes. My confirmation however was that seller was in a town less than 10 miles from the FM headquarters, so the original owner must had been an employee in FM.

I posted the original auction pictures here long time ago, I actually  have them in my archive ... here are 5 cars, 4 are prototypes, the fifth has a FPA label but I have not found any difference from the production possibly an artist proof:

The Chevy is restored, the RR and the Packard are 95% done. Looking for donor car for the Agajanian.

The RR had another 2, close to 100% clues, that it is a prototype. Can anyone pick these clues? One of them is literally awesome!

I don't have a Rolls with that Victoria style top so I can't say. It looks like the vintage 1912 Packard. I'm amazed that Agajanian came with all the accessories.

Rich, the white car is Packard Victoria, that car is not interesting. This is the model in I am referring to:

Check the license plate: literally "AWESOME".

And the real car:

When the Chinese builders got the pictures, they meticulously recreated the original:

These are the actual auction pictures. I will post pictures of the restored model at some point.
