1937 saw the debut of the Horch 853 A Sport Cabriolet. By then, Horch was a division of the Auto Union conglomerate both founded by August Horch. Over the following years before WWll, 404 were built and 12 survive today. Powered by a 120 HP 4.5 liter SOHC straight 8 featuring hydraulic drum brakes, independent front suspension and a DeDion rear axle all with hydraulic shock absorbers. Made for luxury cruising, the interior is a symphony of leather and wood. I just love those prewar German designs. They're so... Germanic!
Wow, now those are CLASSY!!!!! Great models and pics Rich. Thanks for sharing them with us. I appreciate seeing what's in everybodys collections.💯😎
I have the red top up and should have bought the green top down to display with it. Your pictures make me regret that decision back in the day.
got 'em both very early on as I was blown away by the car history, beauty and model detail. Isn't there a rare black and silver version around too, or am I imaging it? Thanks Rich.
PS, nah must be my imagination or I'm thinking of the 1/12 Silver Black version. Did find this top down burgundy version which I cant recall seeing before though.
