GMP did a fantastic job on these cars, especially the interiors and the engine bays. I brightened up the headlights with some BMF on the back side.
Nice touch Pete 👍 I've done that along with clipping the mounting pins off many 1/18s. Same with taillights.
It's simple to do. GMP didn't use any glue to hold the bumper or grill to the body. I used a slotted screwdriver and gently pried between the body and the bumper, a little bit on each side. Once the bumper was removed, I did the same thing to the grill, prying a little bit on each side until it
@pete-rovero Thanks Pete, it sounds like I got some moddin' to do.😁
It's simple to do. GMP didn't use any glue per se to hold the bumper and grill to the body, just the tension from the pins. I used a slotted screwdriver and gently pried between the body and the bumper, a little bit on each side. The pins are fairly robust so there's little chance of breaking them if you work slowly from side to side. Once the bumper was removed, I did the same thing to the grill, prying a little on each side until the pins were free from the body. You can see why the headlights aren't very bright. GMP used silver paint on the body behind the clear headlight lenses. I used bare metal foil on the back of the lenses to brighten them up making them look more like sealed beam headlights. When finished just snap the grill back in place and then the bumper.
@pete-rovero Thanks Pete, I truly do appreciate it. You made them look more realistic. Great job and great info.💯😊
