The 1953 to 1956 Holden FJ Special Sedan got a new face lift and luxury amenities that offered Aussie families a more comfortable sedan. Built by GM-Holden it became quite the icon over years and is still sought after today by collectors. Powered by the 2.2 liter OHV "Gray Motor" 6 that with its 84 HP could propel you to 84 mph on Outback highways. Separating the Special variant from the Standard and business sedans was a more ornate and bolder horizontal grill, chromed window surrounds, and distinctive chromed tail fins. Passenger upgrades included more plush bench seats and a tutone interior trim that matched the Special's tutone exterior. This model by Top Gear is 26 years old, but ignoring the dog leg hinges and tampo'd scripts, it's a quality model both in fit and finish.
These among my very favorite models. I have 5 of this year from Trax and another from DDA. I hadn't realized I'd had them so long until I read your post. The solid black one has been a part of my collection since late 1998. The last Trax version I got was in 2009 and it was the Glamour Red with the "highly optioned package" which includes fender skirts, visor, rear window louvers and whitewall tires. These are excellent models that bring a smile to my face every time I look at them.

@diecast1-24cars that diorama is spectacular Greg. Bet theres a few of our Holden museums that would want to get their hands on it!
@diecast1-24cars you beat me to it Greg! Then there is the station wagon prototype that never made it to production.
this one sold for $230000 in 2019
I remember my Grandfather owning a grey FX, it was his pride and joy, I wonder what happened to it
something similar Greg, I had the chance to accept by uncles immaculate 64 EH Special sedan when he passed in 1992. Nowhere to put it so I had to decline. If only!I remember my Grandfather owning a grey FX, it was his pride and joy, I wonder what happened to it

Thanks Greg, those are all fantastic. I wish someone would have done the Efigy in 1/24. I've always loved that car. It's stunning.💯
