Bburago of Italy was doing its thing in 1/24 and 1/18. This is an ancient kit build which allowed the ability for me to polish the orange peel and do a bit of trim paint, washes and rubs to actually make this 1936 Mercedes-Benz 500K Cabriolet fairly presentable. It soon wound up going head-to-head with Franklin Mints similar model. As the first of FM's lineup. it honestly wasn't that much better, especially with the kit costing $15.
That looks like a very nice model-great build. I have, but never cared for the FM version.

Fascinatingly excellent work my friend!

That first FM 500K was a disappointment, but things would soon get better. I often wonder if the emerging "me too" competitiveness of Danbury Mint wasn't the kick in the butt FM needed to up the quality and parts count of their future releases. I remember them going head-to-head with the Stutz Blackhawk and the Jaguar 120. It seemed like there was a mole in at least one of the companies.
I have never seen the white version. I have a CMC in red, always meant to get others-never did. I like the CMC version far more.

@perrone1 I would love a CMC version, but the cost.... I have a search notification on Ebay... I'd go for it .. but I don't won't get divorced LOL
Richard you did a great job on this one !!! I thought it was CMC till I read it. I have the blue CMC AND white LE with red interior both are nice models
